Alice Larson, formerly of Nicollet, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003, at the St. Mary's Care Center in Winsted.
She was born June 5, 1923, in Milford Township, Brown County, the daughter of Peter and Clara (Grau) Schmid. Alice attended school in New Ulm.
Alice was united in marriage to Adolph Starke June 21, 1943, in North Mankato. They farmed in the rural Nicollet area until 1964, when they moved into Nicollet.
After the death of Adolph, she married Milton Larson Oct. 29, 1972, in Lafayette. They then continued to live in Nicollet. Alice moved to Glencoe August 2000.
She was a former member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet, and was a member of the ladies aid at the church. Alice was most recently a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Helen Township, McLeod County.
Alice is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Adolph Jan. 7, 1966, her second husband Milton May 27, 1997, daughter Bonnie Fuller July 23, 2000, and brother Linus Schmidt.
Alice is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Dr. Edgar Possin, of Kent, Wash., a daughter Betty Freeman of Omaha, Neb., son and daughter-in-law Dene and Jennifer Starke of Lester Prairie, son-in-law Richard Fuller of Nicollet, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Alice Larson are 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Helen Township, McLeod County, with the Rev. Dennis Reichow officiating.
Visitation was Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Nicollet, and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church Monday.
Burial was in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Nicollet Township, Nicollet County.
