Lester C. Lenz
Lester C. Lenz, age 80, of Watertown, died Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at Elim Home in Watertown.
Lester was born Aug. 19, 1922 at Maple Plain, the son of William F. and Dora E. (Schilling) Lenz.
He was baptized Sept. 17, 1922 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Watertown Township, by the Rev. Paul Beck, and confirmed April 5, 1936 at the same church by the Rev. Karl Rudolph.
Lester was married to Marjorie I. Burandt Jan. 28, 1945, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia by the Rev. Robert Heyne.
Lester was a charter member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He had been a trustee and an usher at church. Lester worked for the State Highway Department for 30 years. He was very active with the Watertown Town Baseball Association. Les enjoyed his lake home, having his family there, and fishing.
Lester was preceded in death by parents William and Dora Lenz, sister-in-law Carol Lenz, father-in-law and mother-in-law Edwin and Ella Burandt, and brother-in-law Irvin Menden.
Lester is survived by his loving wife Margie, sons and daughters-in-law Roger and Dee Lenz of Webster City, Iowa, Fred Lenz of Watertown, grandchildren Dan Lenz, Cara Lenz, Liza and Scott Torborg, Ryan Lenz, and great granddaughter Grace Elizabeth Torborg
Lester is further survived by sister and brothers-in-law Ardis and Merlin Burandt of Waconia, Marian and Keith Saunders of Waconia, brothers Loren Lenz of Watertown, William Lenz of Watertown.
Lester is also survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Pearl Menden of Shakopee, Alvin and Flora Burandt of Young America, Sylvia and Ray Dummer of Mayer, Dennis and Margaret Burandt of Young America, Darlene and Harvey Tesch of Shakopee, Melvin and Anna Burandt of Buffalo, Larry and Joyce Burandt of Lester Prairie, Diane and Bruce Kyes of Bismark, N.D., Karen and Marcel Gueningsman of Shakopee, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Lester were Saturday, July 26, 2003 at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Ronald Mathison officiating.
Interment was at Watertown Public Cemetery.
Casketbearers were Dan Lenz, Cara Lenz, Liza Torborg, Ryan Lenz, Neil Burandt, and Neil Dummer.
Arrangements were made by the Johnson Funeral Home of Waconia.
