Benedict James "Ben" Mochinske

Benedict James "Ben" Mochinske, age 81, of Winsted Township, McLeod County died Friday morning, March 28, 2003, at his residence.

He was born June 5, 1921, in Winsted Township, the son of Waddick and Helen Grzasewicz Mochinske.

In June of 1948, Ben Mochinske and Elizabeth Loebertmann were joined in holy marriage at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with two sons.

Ben lived his entire life on his family's homestead and farmed until the day he died.

He was an avid fisherman, mechanic, gardener, and dairy farmer.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents Waddick and Helen Mochinske, sisters Stella Rozeske and Annie McGuire, and by his brothers George, Walter, and Robert.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Mochinske; sons James A. Mochinske and Robert B. (Debra) Mochinske, all of Winsted; grandchildren Jaclyn (Darrel) Borka of Hutchinson, Laura (Jason) Overstreet of Virginia Beach, Va., and Bobbie (Paulo) Saghi of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

He is further survived by great grandchildren Alyssa and Grace Borka and Juliana Saghi; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law "Sonny" (Marge) Loebertmann, Joe Loebertmann, Clem Loebertmann, Rosemary (Dennis) Reardon, and Lucille (Fritz) Oberding; and many other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Ben Mochinske took place Monday, March 31 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Paul L. Wolf was the celebrant, and interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.

Friends called Sunday, March 30 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. A prayer service took place at 3 p.m.

Casket bearers were Ken Snegosky, Dave Snegosky, Michael Knoll, Albert Loebertmann, Jr., Patrick Loebertmann, and Ken Moy.

The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
