Loren Elmer Ohm
Loren Elmer Ohm passed away Sunday, March 9, 2003, at Emmanuel
Home in Litchfield. He reached the age of 65 years, five months, and seven
days.
Loren was born Oct. 2, 1937, in Belle Plaine, to Charles
and Viola (Karels) Ohm. The family left Belle Plaine when Loren was four
years old and moved around until settling in Dassel.
Loren was baptized at Young America Lutheran Church and
confirmed at First Lutheran Church (Gethsemane) in Dassel.
Loren attended school in Dassel. He did farm work and was
employed at Advanced Rubber Company of Minneapolis. He also worked at the
nursery in Howard Lake for a period of time.
He married Pat Benton May 25, 1963, at Gethsemane Lutheran
Church. Services were conducted by Rev. Virgil Juliette. They made their
home in Dassel. Loren cared for his wife and daughter.
Loren enjoyed mechanical work; he tinkered with cars, tractors,
and lawn mowers. He enjoyed auctions and drank a lot of coffee at the Norseman.
He was preceeded in death by his brother Gerald.
He is survived by his parents, Charles and Viola of Litchfield;
wife, Patricia of Litchfield; daughter, Linda of Grove City; brothers, Roger
(Lynn) Ohm of Litchfield and Curtis (Barb) Ohm of Cokato.
A funeral service for Loren Elmer Ohm took place Thursday,
March 13 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Dassel. Pastor Paula Geister-Jones
officiated the service. Music was by Flo Osness.
Interment was at Cokato Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery.
Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home, Inc. of Cokato and Howard
Lake served the family.
