Marjal E. Prehn
Marjal E. Prehn, age 66, of Rochester, and formerly of Lester Prairie, passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at St. Mary's Hospital after a short illness.
Marjal Elaine Birkholz was born Oct. 30, 1936, to Esther Amelia (nee Adams) and Herman Adolf Emil Birkholz in Lester Prairie.
She was united in marriage to Glennard E. Prehn Oct. 12, 1957, in Lester Prairie.
Marjal grew up in Lester Prairie, and moved to the Rochester in 1965.
Marjal and Glenn owned Prehn Building Sales. She also enjoyed caring for her family as a homemaker, shopping, and playing cards.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn Prehn of Rochester, daughter Beth Grassel of Rochester, and one grandchild.
She is further survived by brothers and sisters Betty Lou (Lowell) Wolff of Clear Lake, Gordon (Doreen) Birkholz, Sr. of Howard Lake, Doris (Chester) Bammann of Lester Prairie, Joyce (Larry) Heuer of Chanhassen, Gene (Teri) Birkholz of Howard Lake, and Robert (Nancy) Birkholz of Lester Prairie.
Funeral services took place Friday, Jan. 31, at 11 a.m., at Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Friends called Thursday, Jan. 30, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Macken Funeral Home, and again on hour prior to service at the church.
