Alvin T. Schlueter, age 74, of Hutchinson, passed away
Monday, November 17, 2003, at the Hutchinson Community Hospital.
Alvin Theodore Schlueter was born April 22, 1929 in Cedar
Mills Township, Meeker County, the son of Theodore and Martha (Wendorff)
Schlueter.
Alvin was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in
his faith as a youth at St John’s Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills Township.
Alvin received his education at the country school in Cedar Mills Township.
Alvin was united in marriage to Margaret Condon June 28,
1951, at the Catholic Church in Greenleaf, Minn. They were blessed with
six children.
Alvin and Margaret resided in Hutchinson until 1973, when
they moved to Hale Township, rural Silver Lake, where they operated a farm.
Alvin later worked in Winsted for Mid-America Dairy for 23 years. He retired
in 1995.
In October 2002, Alvin and Margaret moved back to Hutchinson
where they attended St. Anastasia Catholic Church. Alvin received the Sacrament
of the Holy Eucharist July 11, 2003.
In his spare time, Alvin enjoyed fishing and continued
to love farming. Alvin and Margaret were blessed with 52 years of marriage.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and
Martha Schlueter, granddaughter Missy Schlueter, brothers Milan and Marvin
Schlueter, sisters Margaret Tewes, Loretta Mackedanz, and brother-in-law
Del Heineke.
Alvin is survived by his wife, Margaret Schlueter of Hutchinson,
children Anne Marie (David) LeClaire of Hutchinson, Daniel Alvin (Sherri)
Schlueter of Brownton, John (Julie) Schlueter of Winsted, Julie (Terry)
Quast of Hutchinson, Rosemary (Mike) Dudek of Waite Park, and Carole Schlueter
of Hutchinson.
Alvin is further survived by grandchildren Jason (Anne)
LeClaire, Randy LeClaire, Lisa LeClaire, Daniel Schlueter, Timothy Schlueter,
Patrick Schlueter, Chris Schlueter, Brad (Jenny) Schlueter, Adam Quast,
Trevor Quast, Kevin Quast, Jordan Quast, Kelly Quast, Brooke Quast, Scott
(Holly) Dudek, Andrew Dudek, Tiffany Dudek, and Douglas Dudek.
Alvin is also survived by great grandchildren Alan Dudek,
Reubin LeClaire, Joseph Schlueter; brother Erwin (Jean) Schlueter of Hutchinson;
sisters Leona Heinecke of Motley, and Alice (Don) Swanson of Deerwood; sister-in-law
Darla Schlueter of Osselock, Wis.; brother-in-law Roy Tewes of Hutchinson,
many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
Blessed be his memory.
Mass of Christian Burial was Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003 at
11 a.m. at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson.
Clergy officiating was Father Bill Sprigler, organist was
Bev Wangerin, song leader was Bobbi Ludewig, and the musical selections
were “Amazing Grace,” “On Eagle’s Wings,” “O Lord,
I Am Not Worthy,” “Be Not Afraid,” “The Old Rugged Cross,”
and “How Great Thou Art.”
Casketbearers were Jason LeClaire, Randy LeClaire, Timothy
Schlueter, Chris Schlueter, Adam Quast, and Scott Dudek
Interment was in the St. Anastasia Catholic Cemetery in
Hutchinson.
