Richard D. “Satch” Schumann obituary, 11/25/2003


Richard D. “Satch” Schumann, 57, of Watertown,
died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
Satch was born April 22, 1946, at Waconia, the son of William
T. and Esther A. (Schrupp) Schumann.
He was baptized May 12, 1946 at Zion Lutheran Church of
Mayer by the Rev. E. Schwandt, and confirmed March 26, 1961, at St. Paul’s
Lutheran Church of Watertown by the Rev. E. Wetzel.
Satch enjoyed and loved family gatherings. He was an avid
fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed bowling, playing softball, camping, and
playing cards. Satch was employed at Johnson and Peterson Construction in
Wayzata.
Satch was preceded in death by parents William and Esther
Schumann, brother Milton Schumann, and brother-in-law Richard Glaeser.
He is survived by sisters and brothers-in-law Lucille and
Clarence Farniok of Buffalo, Myra and Albert Lenzen of Winsted, Betty Glaeser
of Norwood, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services for Richard D. “Satch” Schumann
were Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of
Watertown, with the Rev. Paul Krentz officiating.
Interment was at Watertown Public Cemetery.
Casketbearers were Howard Kasheimer, David Westlund, Sr.,
David Westlund, Jr., Fred Lenz, Douglas Maass, and Al Leuthner.
The Johnson Funeral Home of Waconia served the family.
