Margaret Ruth Stelzer

Margaret Ruth Stelzer entered her eternal home Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003, at the age of 81.

Margaret was born Sept. 24, 1922 in Ogallala, Neb., to Frank and Ida (Hahn) Holscher.

She was born into the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism Oct. 8, 1922 at St. John's Lutheran, Ogallala, Neb., with the Rev. M. Behrends officiating. She was confirmed Sept. 6, 1936, at St. John's Lutheran, Ogallala, Neb., with the Rev. Rudolph Norden officiating.

She was united in holy wedlock June 28, 1944, to Harold T. Stelzer at St. Paul's Lutheran, Ogallala, Neb., with the Rev. G. Goehnke officiating. This union was blessed with six children.

Margaret was the church organist at St. John's Lutheran, Ogallala, Neb., for eight years, and assistant organist at Trinity Lutheran, Wisconsin Dells, Wis., for eight years.

Her husband, Harold, was the principal and a teacher at the St. James Lutheran parochial school in Howard Lake, and also played the organ at St. James Lutheran Church, from 1946-55.

She was a member at Christ Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Neb., for almost 20 years. Margaret loved music and flowers.

Her departure leaves to mourn her husband of 59 years, Rev. Harold T. Stelzer, Lincoln, Neb.; sons and daughters-in-law Dennis and Susan of Lincoln, Neb.; Dr. Paul and Mary Delle of New York, N.Y.; James and Carol of Lincoln, Neb.; Dr. Mark and Kathryn of LeMars, Iowa; Donald and Patricia of Lincoln.

Margaret is also survived by daughter and son-in-law Diane and Ronald Merrill of Lincoln, Neb.; aunt Louise Hahn of Lincoln, Neb.; 21 grandchildren and their spouses and fiancées; five great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Ida Holscher, brothers Everett and Richard, son-in-law Phillip Krentz, and infant grandson Todd Elliott Stelzer.

Services for Margaret Ruth Stelzer were Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, 10 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 4325 Sumner St., Lincoln, NE 68506.
