Doris Pearl Albright, 89

Doris Pearl Albright, age 89, of Lake Park, passed away Monday, Feb. 2, 2004 at Sunnyside Care Center in Lake Park, Minn.

Doris (Dode) was born in South Haven Oct. 24, 1914 to Elieu and Catherine (Fiedler) Nelson. She grew up in the South Haven and Annandale area and graduated from Annandale High School.

On June 15, 1944, Doris and Melford Albright were married. They lived and worked in Howard Lake their entire married life. After Mel died at the age of 50 in 1968, Doris went to work for the Howard Lake Public School system.

First Presbyterian Church was an important part of her life. She belonged to the Women's Association, the Bible Study Circle, and was financial secretary for many years. She enjoyed her times working at school events, the Wright County Fair, and best of all, making beautiful quilts with her sister, Ada.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Mel, her half-sister Mae Rozenberg, and her sisters Anna Nelson, Betty Munson, and Ada Montgomery.

Survivors include her two daughters, Sandra (Rick) Setterberg of Phoenix, Ariz., and Cynthia (Paul) Thorwaldsen of Detroit Lakes; grandchildren Jason (Jennifer) Setterberg, Shannon Setterberg, and Michael Setterberg of Phoenix, Ariz., Jeff (Tracy) Ankerfelt of Buffalo, Minn., Kimberly (Damien) Jungroth of St. Paul, Chris (Kim) Ankerfelt of St. Paul, Bob Thorwaldsen of Detroit Lakes, and nine great grandchildren.

Visitation was at the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Howard Lake Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004 from 4 to 8 p.m., with a funeral service Friday, Feb. 6, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Howard Lake.

Jeff Ankerfelt, Chris Ankerfelt, Bob Thorwaldsen, Damien Jungroth, Jason Setterberg, and Michael Setterberg served as casketbearers.

Interment was at Howard Lake Cemetery.

Arrangements were made by Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Cokato and Howard Lake.
