Dorothy Ann Ardolf
Dorothy Ardolf, age 68 of Glencoe, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004, at the Bethesda Nursing Home-Pleasantview in Willmar.
Dorothy Ann Mazal was born to George and Elsie (Skorpik) Mazal Sept. 10, 1935, in Glencoe. She attended country school and later graduated from Glencoe High School in 1953.
She was united in marriage to Eugene Ardolf Sept. 20, 1955, at St. George Catholic Church by the Rev. Skoblik. She lived in Glencoe her entire life until 1999, when she moved to Hutchinson, and later, Mankato and Willmar.
Dorothy was a member of the Home Makers from the 1970s until the 1990s. She sang in the church choir, was a member of the CCW, attended Bible study, and was part of the Renew groups.
She loved to travel, read, crochet, play cards, and do garden and yard work. Dorothy always attended family gatherings and loved to be with family. She was also in a bowling league in earlier years.
As a youth, Dorothy was in 4-H and softball, and she was a 4-H Dress Review queen.
Survivors include her two daughters, Janice (Enrique) Vazquez of Willmar, and Sandy Ardolf; grandchildren, Zachary Jergens and Adam Jergens; sisters, Darlene (Joe) Dostal of Winsted, and Margaret Lewandowski of Watertown; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sister Miriam Ardolf, OSB of St. Joseph, the Rev. Edward Ardolf of Nicollet, Joanne Ardolf Decker, and Jim Decker of Mankato; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene; grandchildren, Marco Vazquez, Christina Vazquez, Angel Ardolf Vazquez and Mason Edward Jergens.
Funeral services took place Monday, Aug. 23, from the Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe. Officiating was the Rev. Edward Ardolf. Concelebrants of the service were the Rev. Eugene Lozinski and the Rev. Paul Ardolf.
The organist was Sister Elizabeth Gruenes, OSB, and the song leader was Joanne Pohland. The congregational hymns were “We Gather Together,” “On Eagle’s Wings,” “Whatsoever You Do,” “I Am the Bread Of Life,” and “Now Thank We All Our God.”
Special reflection was of “Fly Like A Bird” by Marco Ardolf Vazquez. The lectors were Sister Miriam Ardolf, OSB, and Sister Judith Schaffer, OSB. The eulogy was given by Jim and Joanne Decker. The offertory gift bearers were Dee Baker, Jeanne Johnson and Lavonne Reif.
Pallbearers were Diane Binder, Randy Dostal, Duane Dostal, Julie Hanson, Adrian Campanelli, and Tom Ardolf. Interment was in the Glencoe Catholic Cemetery.
Arrangements were with the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe.
