Jane Margaret Cardinal
Jane Margaret Cardinal, age 64, of rural Montrose, died Thursday morning, Oct. 14, 2004 at her residence.
She was born May 20,1940 in Woodland Township, Wright County, the daughter of Phillip and Gertrude Ceryes Salonek.
Jane graduated from Delano High School in 1958.
Jane and Arlynn D. Cardinal were joined in holy marriage Sept. 29, 1962, at the Church of St. Mary of Czestochowa in rural Delano. God blessed their marriage with five children.
Arlynn and Jane engaged in hog farming, south of Montrose for many years.
Jane was a faithful member of the Church of St. Mary in Waverly, and was a past chairman of her serving circle. She belonged to the Wright County Pork Producers, where she served as a past board member. She also was involved in Woodland Township’s Community Chest.
Jane is survived by her loving husband, Arlynn Cardinal; children: Brenda (Robert) Marketon of Buffalo, Daryl (Michele) Cardinal of Monticello, Douglas (Brenda) Cardinal, and Donald (Amy) Cardinal, all of Montrose; and Dean (Natasha) Cardinal of Loretto; and grandchildren: Kayla, Jill and Samantha; Ashley, Jeremy and Cammey; Jacob, Mitchel and Mistie; Jessie and Nathan; and Riley.
She is further survived by sisters and brothers: Rose (Marvin) Henning of Buffalo, Richard (Donna) Salonek of Mayer, Betty (Jan) Ferrell of Waverly, Ronald Salonek of Hill City, and Patty (Richard) Meier of Watertown; sister-in-law Corrine Salonek of Hill City; brothers-in-law and sisters-inlaw, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Gertrude Salonek; and by a brother, James Salonek.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place Monday, Oct. 18 at 10:30 a.m. at The Church of St. Mary in Waverly. Father Timothy Cloutier was the celebrant. Mae Wannarka was the organist for the Mass, and Erika Rhode was the soloist. Interment followed at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Friends called Sunday, Oct. 16 at the church from 4 to 8 p.m.
Casket bearers were Gail Babatz, Dorlyn Cardinal, Carey Ferrell, Jody Mattson, Lowell Noeldner, and Robert Salonek.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
