Margaret Frances Dalbec
Margaret Frances Dalbec, age 59 of Cokato, died Friday, April 16, 2004, while battling cancer as a patient at Waconia Hospital.
Margaret was born Aug. 11, 1944 near Montrose, the daughter of Frank and Margaret (Bronder) Babatz. She was baptized at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Waverly; and as an adult, was confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
She was united in marriage to Douglas Dalbec Aug. 24, 1963, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Wayzata. This union was blessed with three sons. They made their home on a farm in Stockholm Township, near Cokato.
Margaret was employed at Tonka Toys for 19 years, Berk Manufacturing for six years, and the Cokato Manor, as a housekeeper, for eight years.
She enjoyed family get-togethers, and could not pass up a garage sale. Her hobbies included bowling and gardening.
Margaret was called to her eternal rest at the age of 59 years, eight months, and five days.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Margaret Babatz; and a nephew, Frank Babatz.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas Dalbec; sons: Larry (Mary) Dalbec, Ronald (Lori) Dalbec, and Duane (Mardy) Dalbec; three grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 20, at St. James Lutheran Church, Howard Lake, with the Revs. Michael Nirva and Martin Schoenfeld officiating. Nancy Butterfass served as organist.
Serving as pallbearers were Matt Dalbec, Steph Dalbec, Ted Dalbec, Alex Dalbec, Jane Babatz, Mary Marquette, and Todd Moxley.
Arrangements were by the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Howard Lake.
