Roger H. Dobratz

Roger H. Dobratz, age 39 of Norwood Young America, died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004 at Hennepin County Medical Center, Minneapolis.

Roger was born May 12, 1965, the son of Harlan and Carolyn (Narr) Dobratz. He was baptized June 6, 1965 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Watertown, by the Rev. Darrel Boettcher, and confirmed at the same church May 6, 1979, by the Rev. Donald Taylor.

He married Dianne T. Williams May 1, 1993 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, New Germany, by the Rev. Jack Dahl.

Roger was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Lillian Dobratz and Raymond Narr; an uncle, John Narr; and a cousin, James Hoese.

He is survived by his wife, Dianne; daughters and sons-in-law Denise and Kevin Dokken of Belgrade, Cheryl Williams of St. Lous Park, and Carrie and Joe Peterson of Norwood Young America; grandchildren Nicole and David Dokken, and Hailey and Raeven Peterson; his parents, Harlan and Carolyn Dobratz of New Germany; and his grandmother, Vernice Narr of Watertown.

He is further survived by brother and sister-in-law Robert and Jodie Dobratz of New Germany, sister Cindy Dobratz of Chaska; niece and nephew Ashley and Chad Dobratz, godparents Vernice Narr and Erland Hoese, godchildren Gene Narr and Chad Dobratz, and mother-in-law Alyse Williams of Waconia.

In addition, Roger is survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Robert and Harriet Williams of Park Rapids, Judy and Larry Bellinger of Wisconsin, Steve and Lorna Williams of Minneapolis, and Joe and Gloria Williams of Mound, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 2 at 11 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church, New Germany, with the Rev. Alen Holthus officiating. Interment followed in Crow River Cemetery, Camden Twp., New Germany.

Casket bearers were Roger’s cousins: Brian Schubert, Jerry Schubert, Gene Narr, Jesse Narr, Mike Dobratz, Paul Dobratz, and Jon Narr.

Arrangements were by Johnson Funeral Home of Waconia.
