Elmer William Drawert
Elmer William Drawert, age 84 of Howard Lake, died Friday, May 7, 2004, at his home.
Elmer was born May 9, 1918, in rural Annandale, the son of Fred and Mathilda (Warnke) Drawert. He was baptized June 11, 1919, by the Rev. A. P. Streufert at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Middleville Township, Wright County; and confirmed in his faith March 20, 1932, at St. James Lutheran Church, Howard Lake, by the Rev. C. G. Seltz.
Elmer was united in marriage to Adeline Bakeberg June 6, 1943, at St. James Church by the Rev. Seitz. This union was blessed with two children.
Elmer and Adeline made their home and living on a farm south of Howard Lake. Elmer farmed for many years, and looked forward to deer hunting every fall.
While at home, Elmer was suddenly called to his eternal rest, having reached the age of 84 years, 11 months, and 28 days.
He is survived by his daughters: Janet and her husband, Walter Johnson, of Cannon Falls; and Lona Lee and her husband, Lerton Zander, of Long Prairie; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a sister, Helen Gerber of Howard Lake; nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mathilda Drawert; and his wife, Adeline.
Funeral services were May 11 at St. James Lutheran Church, Howard Lake, with the Revs. Michael Nirva and Martin Schoenfeld officiating. Nancy Butterfass served as organist. Interment was at the St. James Cemetery on Dutch Lake.
Pallbearers were Ben Bergquist, Dwight Bergquist, Christopher Zander, Brent Johnson, Rick Otto, and Dustin Endres.
Arrangements were by the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Howard Lake.
