Ambrose M. Ernhart
Ambrose M. Ernhart, age 88 of Winsted died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2004 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
He was born Feb. 7, 1916 in Victor Township, Wright County, the son of Martin and Bertha Smaltz Ernhart.
Ambrose and Clara A. Kohler were joined in holy marriage Nov. 7, 1939, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with nine children.
Ambrose and Clara engaged in dairy farming east of Winsted for many years.
Ambrose was a faithful, lifelong member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. He also belonged to The Knights of Columbus Council 8253 and Catholic Order of Foresters Holy Trinity Court 1054.
He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and recently discovered casinos. Through the years, Ambrose also enjoyed teasing his mother-in-law.
Ambrose is survived by his loving wife, Clara A. Ernhart; children: Raymond (Juanita) of Richmond, Robert (Marcy) of Howard Lake, Marcy of Hopkins, Mark (Jean) of New Richmond, Wis.; Carol of Winsted, Stan (Jill) of Winsted, Marvin (Suzann) of Watertown, Mary of Winsted, and Tom (Carla) of New Germany; 24 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren
He is further survived by sisters Irene of St. Paul and Monica of Helena, Mont.; other relatives and friends.
Ambrose was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Bertha; a granddaughter, Amie Louise; and brothers and sisters, Louie, Frank, Jim, Albert, Annabelle, Mary and Birdie.
A concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial took place Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 3:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. The Revs. Paul L. Wolf, John H. Brunne, and Frank J. Wampach were the concelebrants. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Friends called Tuesday, Sept. 21 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. A combined Knights of Columbus and Foresters Rosary was recited at 7 p.m., and parish prayers at 7:30 p.m.
Honorary casket bearers were grandsons: Christopher Peterson, Andy Gueningsman, and Zachary Curley.
Casket bearers were grandsons: Michael Ernhart, Steven Ernhart, Matt Ernhart, Adam Ernhart, Eric Ernhart, and Jacob Ernhart.
The Chilson Funeral Chapel in Winsted served the family.
