Jerome A. Etteldorf
Jerome A. Etteldorf, age 42, of Cokato, died tragically as a result of a car accident October 18, 2004.
Jerome “Jerry” Allen Etteldorf was born September 18, 1962 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Robert and Carol (Fritz) Etteldorf.
He grew up in Milwaukee and attended school in Racine, Wis. Following high school he attended school for automotive business. He then went on to become a regional manager for Bachrachs Men’s Store working in Milwaukee, Wiss., Nashville, Tenn., Glendale, Calif., and Minneapolis.
On August 21, 2004, Jerry realized a lifelong dream when he completed his bachelor’s degree in business administration at American InterContinental University, graduating with summa cum laude honors. Currently Jerry was working on a second bachelor’s degree in agriculture.
Since 1987 Jerry worked as an agent for Farmers Insurance Group. He later became a financial consultant for Fortis Company, Martin Financial, and most recently for Financial Concepts, Inc.
In 1983 Jerry was married to Lynn Soper in Lublin, Wis., to this union two sons were born.
Jerry came to Minnesota in 1987 and lived in Champlin and Elk River. On May 30, 1998 Jerry was married to Barb. They made their home in Cokato.
Jerry enjoyed motorcycling, watching movies, watersports, Corvettes and music. He was a member of the band Final Cut playing keyboard, drums, and guitar. Jerry was also an eagle scout.
Jerry is survived by his sons, David of Cokato and Michael of Elk River; his dad, Robert (Pam) of Riverside, Calif. and mother Carol (Raymond) Rodriguez of Racine, Wis.; brother James of Riverside, Calif. sister Deborah (Earl) Keeku of Moreno Valley, Calif.; step daughters Jamie (Sonny) Karjalahti of Becker and Tina (Jason) Bradish of Montague, Mich. and step grandchildren Ashton, Makenna, Alexis and Rylan and first wife Lynn McGee of Elk River, many other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his brother Steven and his grandparents. His wife Barbara was killed in the same accident.
Funeral service was Friday, October 22 at 11 a.m. at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cokato. Visitation was Thursday, from 4-9 p.m., also at church. Interment at Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery.
