Leon M. Frantz
Leon M. Frantz, age 74 of Waconia, died Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at Ridgeview Medical Center, Waconia.
He was born May 6, 1930 at St. Louis Park, the son of Otto and Caroline (Kruse) Frantz. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
Leon served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He married Donna M. Quale Aug. 20, 1949, in Minneapolis.
Leon was a private pilot for many years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He also enjoyed building, antiquing, and going to auctions, as well as fixing anything he was asked to fix.
Preceding Leon in death were his parents, Otto and Caroline Frantz; brothers Donald, Merle, and Melvin Frantz; sisters Gladys Casper and Mildred Westling; father-in-law and mother-in-law Henry and Olga Quale; and a brother-in-law, Elmer Zahnow.
He is survived by his loving wife, Donna; son and daughter-in-law David and Lynne Frantz of Ashland, Wisc.; daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Paul Tucci of Eden Prairie; grandchildren Eric Frantz and Matthew and Stephanie Tucci; sister-in-law Gertrude Zahnow of Maple Grove, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Sunday, July 25, at 1 p.m., at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Watertown Township, Watertown, with the Rev. Bill Hillyer officiating. Interment was at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Waconia.
Serving as casketbearers were Charlie Steinhagen, Daryl Zahnow, Fred Radde III, Paul Neumann, Mike Frantz, and Jerry Westling.
The Johnson Funeral Home, Waconia, handled the arrangements.
