James Daniel Hier
James Daniel Hier, age 52, formerly of Minneapolis, died Monday, April 26, 2004 at the Albuquerque, N. M., V.A. Hospital.
He was born July 25,1951 in Detroit, Mich.
James honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
James D. Hier and Cindy L. Hartman were joined in marriage Feb. 4, 1983, in Clinton County, Iowa. God blessed their marriage with a daughter, Shannon.
Hier was employed as an operator of a towing company.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy L. Hier of Montrose; daughter Shannon Marie Hier of Howard Lake; grandchildren, Clayton Joshua Rolfzen and Richard James Rolfzen; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Monday, May 3, at 10 a.m., at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. The Rev. Delburn Kurtz officiated at the service. Marlene Mohwinkel was the organist, and Rolf Mohwinkel sang “Amazing Grace.”
Interment followed with military rites at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Friends called Sunday, May 2, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mel Rolfzen, Larry Heath, Joshua Hartman and Allen Rolfzen served as casket bearers.
The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo served the family.
