Clara Annie Kieser

Clara Annie Kieser, age 87 of Winsted, died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004 at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.

She was born Sept. 29, 1917 in Winsted Township, McLeod County, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Laxen Habisch.

Clara and Raymond M. Kieser were joined in holy marriage May 9, 1934, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with three children.

Clara was formerly employed at Tonka Toys and at Green Giant.

She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, gardening and raising flowers.

Clara was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. She also belonged to The St. Anne’s Society and Catholic Aid Holy Family Council 204.

She is survived by her children: Bernard (Deanna) Kieser of Paynesville, Raymond (Kathleen) Kieser Jr. of St. Paul, and Diane Hughes of Lonsdale; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister and brothers: Rosella Remer of Winsted, Alfred (Shirley) Habisch of Sturgeon Lake, and Edward (Opal) Habisch of Alexandria; and a sister-in-law, Helen Habisch of Winsted; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond M. Kieser, Feb. 29, 1992; her parents, Frank and Elizabeth Habisch, and sisters and brothers: Mamie Krueger, Agnes Carlson, Isabelle Wiemiller, Magdalene Hausladen, Carl Habisch, Joe Habisch, and Hank Habisch.

A Mass of Christian Burial was Monday, Oct. 25 at 3:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Paul L. Wolf was the celebrant, and interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery .

Gift bearers were three granddaughters: Chris Kieser, Donna Strickland, and Linda Gueningsman.

Friends called Sunday, Oct. 24 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. A parish prayer service took place at 7:30 p.m., followed by a rosary at 8 p.m.

Casket bearers were Robert, Timothy, John, and Brian Kieser, and Troy, and Jason Hughes.

Honorary casket bearers were Andrew Kieser and Jeff Hughes.

The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
