Dale B. Korkowski
Mass of Christian Burial for Dale B. “Korky” Korkowski, 60, of Watertown, was held on Thursday, April 1, from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown with the Rev. Frank Wampach officiating.
Mr. Korkowski died on Sunday, March 28, 2004, at his home in Hollywood Township, Carver County.
Pallbearers were Jeff Korkowski, Keith Korkowski, Scott Monson, Corey Knott, Tyler Humbert, Kyle Korkowski, Dan Gindele, Tom Fink, Jim Pierson and Dave Boehne. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Korkowski was born on Feb. 11, 1944, to Carl and Frances (Pischke) Korkowski in Brandon. He attended Seven Dollars parochial school in Millerville before going to Brandon High School, where he graduated in 1962. Upon graduation, Mr. Korkowski entered Dunwoody Technical College, where he earned a degree in machining.
His first job was at Special Parts, and from there he went to work for Remele. His specialty was delicate parts. He took his expertise and started his own shop from his home, Machine Enterprise, and specialized in intricate and detailed parts.
Mr. Korkowski enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and enjoyed competition, whether it was playing cribbage, darts, cards, golfing or fishing. Oldtime music and polka dancing were his other passions.
Survivors include his fiancee, Lucy Lilienthal; children, Keith Korkowski and special friend, Tamona Hofmeister, Jeff (Angie) Korkowski, Sherry (Scott) Monson, Laura (Corey) Knott; stepsons, Rick (Teresa) Dostal and Ed (Kari) Dostal; grandchildren, Tyler, Kendra and Erin Korkowski, Kyle, Kayla and Kelsey Korkowski, Tyler, Ameilia and baby Monson and baby Knott; stepgrandchildren, Dazz, Alex and Olivia Dostal, Eric and Kayla Dostal; mother, Frances Korkowski; siblings, Joyce Navratil, Leon (Rosemary) Korkowski, Jane (Ron) Kozel, Judy Collett, Kenny (Georgette) Korkowski, JoAnn Reynolds and special friend, Jeff Reed, Linus (Rosellen) Korkowski, Wayne (Shirley) Korkowski, Lynette (Arnold) Gelling, Mary Lou Green, Marjorie (Frank) Nielson, Carol (Jerry) Smith, Anita (Wayne) Setter, Joe Korkowski and special friend, Barb Zupan and Cindy (John) Haffner.
Preceding him in death were his father, Carl Korkowski, and brother, Clement Korkowski.
The Iten Funeral Home of Delano handled the arrangements.
