Joshua David Lauzer
Joshua David Lauzer, age 25 of St. Cloud, and formerly of Howard Lake, died suddenly Monday, Oct. 25, 2004.
He was born March 14, 1979 at Shakopee, the son of David and Dianna (Rein) Lauzer. He was baptized Jan. 19, 1980 at St. James Lutheran Church, Howard Lake, by the Rev. G. C. Michael, and confirmed in his faith at the same church May 2, 1993 by the Rev. William Schultz.
He was united in marriage June 19, 2004 to Crystal Gent at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, by the Rev. Brian Oestreich.
After graduating from Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted High School in 1997, Josh continued his education at Central Lakes Community College in Brainerd, and then at St. Cloud State University.
He currently was employed by AT&T.
Josh was a very energetic young man with interests in football, basketball, golf, and trapshooting. He especially enjoyed being with his family and friends, and looked forward to going to the cabin.
He was preceded in death by his good friend, Rob Hickman; grandfathers, James Baker and Gar Dellwo; great-grandparents Christie Rein, Ben and Hilia Lauzer, and Albert and Minnie Drawert; and cousin Jeremy Steinmentz.
Josh is survived by his wife, Crystal Lauzer, and their expected baby; mother Dianna Lauzer and Ralph Reister; father David Lauzer and Kelly; sisters: Amy and her husband, Steve Geier; Kellsie, Deena, and Lauryn; and brother Zachery.
He is further survived by father- and mother-in-law Maurice and Carol Gent; brothers- and sisters-in-law Brian and Dawn Gent and Tim and Krista Gent; grandparents: Francis Rein and Shirley Rein, George and Lorraine Lauzer, Lorraine Haecherl, and Frank and Marian Mueller; great-grandparents Esther Dellwo and Bernice Rein; nieces and nephews: Alexis, Kathryn, Emma, and Cody Gent, and Logan Steffensmeier; goddaughter Courtney Krueger; aunts; uncles; and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 30 at 1 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, Howard Lake, with the Revs. Michael Nirva and Martin Schoenfeld officiating. Diane Johnson served as organist.
Interment will be Wednesday, Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. at St. James Cemetery on Dutch Lake.
Visitation took place Friday, Oct. 29, from 4 to 9 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, Howard Lake, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and continued one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday.
Pallbearers were Dan Gruenhagen, Rob Bakeberg, Randy Bakeberg, Nate Krummel, Craig Maas, Ryan Amlund, and Willey Hornick.
Honorary pallbearers were John Stueven, Jake Streich, Mark Schultz, Mark Stueven, Corey Knott, Nick Wendorff, and Steve Geier.
The Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Howard Lake served the family.
