Leonard Litfin, Jr.
Leonard Litfin Jr., age 80 of New Germany, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, at Auburn Manor in Chaska.
Leonard was born Aug. 18, 1924 at New Germany, the son of Leonard and Hilda Kohls Litfin. He was baptized Aug. 20, 1924 at the home of his parents by the Rev. Theodore Rolf; and confirmed by the same April 10, 1938 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, New Germany.
Leonard married Lucille B. Schwartz Dec. 7, 1943 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, New Germany, by the Rev. John Meyer.
During his lifetime, Leonard was employed by Minneapolis Moline in St. Louis Park, and at Federal Stamping in Bloomington.
He was an active member of the American Legion in New Germany for 50 years.
Leonard was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille; parents, Leonard and Hilda Litfin; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Oscar and Emma Schwartz.
He is survived by daughter Ellise Lamb of Waconia; son and daughter-in-law Randall and Marcia Litfin of Chaska; grandchildren: Keith Brelje, Daniel Brelje, Rachele and Todd Knudten, Ryan Litfin, and Jenna Litfin; and great-grandchildren: Katelyn and Nicholas Knudten.
Leonard is further survived by sister and brother-in-law Eldoris and Victor Schultz; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Thursday, Dec. 9, at 11 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany with the Rev. Allen Holthus officiating. Interment followed at St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery, New Germany.
Casket bearers were Bradley Schultz, Gerrol Schultz, David Trende, John Jopp, Keith Brelje, Ryan Litfin, Daniel Brelje, and Todd Knudten.
Arrangements were with the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia.
