Monica Lynn Moham
Monica Lynn (Smith) Moham, age 48 of Cokato, died Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at the Cokato Manor in Cokato.
The daughter of Robert “Smitty” and Sharon (Rubel) Smith, Monica was born Dec. 23, 1955, at Meeker County Memorial Hospital in Litchfield. She was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Litchfield.
Monica graduated from the first graduating class at the newly consolidated Dassel-Cokato High School in 1972. She then attended St. Cloud Technical School for one year.
Monica was united in marriage to Robert Moham June 29, 1975. Together, they made their home in Cokato, where they raised their son, Bryan.
Monica worked in Howard Lake, and later, Cokato, as a bookkeeper and prepared taxes.
She was a marvelous seamstress and made many of the wedding dresses for her family members. She loved to cook and fish, and she loved children, especially babies.
She volunteered with the Cub Scouts, and cared greatly for the mentally handicapped, dedicating many hours volunteering with the Special Olympics.
Monica is survived by her husband, Robert, of Cokato; her son, Bryan Moham of Cokato; her mother, Sharon Smith of Cokato; two brothers: Ron and (Diane) Smith of Cokato, and Kevin and (Nancy) Smith of Elk River; a sister, Sheri and (Butch) Woodford of Mannanah; five nieces and three nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert, on July 15, 2003; one niece, one nephew, and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Funeral services were Friday May 7, at 1 p.m. at the Zion United Methodist Church in South Haven, with the Rev. Heather E. Klason officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
Visitation was Thursday, May 6, 5 to 8 p.m., at the Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel; and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
