Elaine (nee Jagodzinski) Neumann, age 74, of Winsted, died early Wednesday morning, Nov. 17, 2004 at her residence.
She was born July 19, 1930 in Silver Lake, the daughter of George and Helen Kaczmarek Jagodzinski.
Elaine graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1947.
Elaine and Paul Neumann were joined in holy marriage July 1, 1950, at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Silver Lake. God blessed their marriage with 10 children.
Paul and Elaine engaged in dairy farming for many years in Hollywood Township, Carver County.
Elaine was a homemaker for her family, and “was a very good one,” Paul said.
She was a volunteer for Winstock, and she also founded the Worn-A-Bit Shop at Holy Trinity Church, and was a co- founder with her husband of the Holy Trinity 500 Club.
A faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, Elaine was also a member of the C.C.W.
She is survived by her loving husband, Paul F. Neumann; children: Douglas (Nancy) Neumann, Dean (Sue) Neumann, and Luanne (Bill) Wiemiller, all of Winsted, Gerald (Donna) Neumann of Chisago City, James Neumann of Winsted, Paul Neumann of Las Vegas, Nev.; Elaine (Kevin) Kahle, Joseph Neumann and fiancé Melissa Burke, all of Winsted; and John (Brenda) Neumann of Shakopee.
Elaine is further survived by 23 grandchildren: Aaron (Tammy) Neumann, Nick Neumann and Katie Neumann; Chris Neumann and Callie Neumann; Jill (Nathan) Bach and Jeff Wiemiller; Brandon Neumann, Sam Neumann and Noah Neumann; Tony Kahle, Kristin Kahle and Lauren Kahle; Joshua Neumann, Emma Neumann, Maddie Neumann, Joey Neumann, Ashley Burke, Britney Burke and Caitlyn Burke; Jack Neumann, Ben Neumann and Emma Neumann.
In addition, Elaine is survived by a sister and two brothers: Joan Bergman of Tucson, Ariz., Gerald (Patty) Jagodzinski of Buffalo, and Jerome (Mary Ann) Jagodzinski of Minneapolis; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Toby Karels of Plymouth, Marcella Olk of Chaska, Kelly Hess of Howard Lake, Robert Neumann of Mesa, Ariz., and Dorie Miller of Howard Lake; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by a son, Larry “Stosh” Neumann in 1996; her parents, George and Helen Jagodzinski; parents-in-law, Clemens and Clara Neumann; brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law: Leo Karels, Ed Olk, Pete Hess, Will Miller, and Monie and Friedel Fasching.
A concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial took place Saturday, Nov. 20 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Paul L. Wolf and Father Ambrose Mahon were the concelebrants. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Lavon Kielkucki was the organist for the Mass. Special music was provided by Holy Trinity Choir, Jeff Wiemiller, and Dorothy Holmers.
Friends call Friday, Nov. 19, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. A prayer service took place at 7:30 p.m.
Casket bearers were Aaron Neumann, Nick Neumann, Brandon Neumann, Sam Neumann, Jeff Wiemiller, and Tony Kahle.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
