Richard “Dick” Lee Pillsbury

Richard “Dick” Lee Pillsbury, age 70 of Vadnais Heights, and formerly of Howard Lake, passed away peacefully Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, surrounded by family.

Richard was a dedicated volunteer, and the first fire chief of the Vadnais Heights Fire Department. He retired from 3M Company after 40 years of dedicated service.

He was a former CEO of Servants of Mary and a U.S. Naval Korean War veteran.

In addition, Dick was a member of the Masons, Shriners, and Golden Melody Makers. He was selected prime minister of the 2000 St. Paul Winter Carnival Senior Royalty Millennium Court.

Dick is survived by his loving wife, Patricia, with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.

He is further survived by three sons: Richard D., Ross (Carrie), and Robert (Jodi); seven grandchildren: Sarah, Alexander, Joshua, Ryan, Breanna, Ashley, and Aaron; a sister, Shirley (Bruce) Good; a godchild, Teri; brother and sisters-in-law: Harley, Judy, Jan, Dan, Katie, Penney, and Steve; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation and services were Wednesday, Sept. 22, at Christ Community Church, White Bear Township. Interment with military honors followed at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

Arrangements were by Holcomb-Henry-Boom Funeral Home, Shoreview.
