Albert E. Bahr
Albert E. Bahr, age 92 of Waconia, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005 at Good Samaritan Center in Waconia.
He was born Feb. 26, 1913 at Watertown Twp., Carver County, the son of Frank and Augusta (Hoeft) Bahr. Albert was baptized April 6, 1913 at Zion Lutheran Church, Mayer, by the Rev. Erthal; and confirmed by the same April 10, 1927.
Albert was married to Idella H. Birkholz June 25, 1941 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Lester Prairie, by the Rev. A. VomHof.
A farmer for many years in Watertown Twp., Albert was also employed at the sugar beet factory in Chaska, and at Advance Machine. In addition, he and Idella were custodians at First National Bank in Waconia.
Albert delivered Meals on Wheels, and participated with Seniors for Christ at Trinity Lutheran Church.
He was a member of the American Legion Post in Waconia.
Albert was preceded in death by his wife, Idella; parents Frank and Augusta Bahr; brothers and sister-in-law Henry and Vernetta Bahr, and William Bahr; sisters and brothers-in-law Adeline and Harold Birkholz, and Leona and Leonard Zebell; father-in-law and mother-in-law Emil and Emma Birkholz; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Alfred Birkholz, Marvin and Dorothy Birkholz, Albert and Sevilla Birkholz, Arthur Birkholz, and George and Lydia Birkholz.
He is survived by sisters-in-law Minnie Bahr of San Diego, Calif., and Barbara Zebell of Waconia; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 11:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia with the Rev. Peter Peitsch officiating. Interment was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Cliff Zellmann, LeRoy Kuntz, Gary Zebell, Jeff Jenneke, Jason Jenneke, and Kenneth Bahr.
Arrangements were by Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia.
