Lloyd W. Brandenburg
Lloyd W. Brandenburg, age 90 of Waconia, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005 at Auburn West in Waconia.
He was born Oct. 30, 1914 at Watertown, the son of Otto and Anna (Ketcher) Brandenberg. Lloyd was baptized Dec. 13, 1914 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Watertown by the Rev. Sebold, and confirmed at the same church April 1, 1928 by the Rev. Rudolf.
Lloyd married Edna M. Engelmann May 12, 1938 at Evangelical Friediens Church in Plato.
During his lifetime, Lloyd lived in Lester Prairie, Montrose, Delano, and Waconia.
He was a farmer and milk trucker, was employed at Minneapolis Moline, Gilmer Monument Works, and Tonka Toys; and drove school bus.
Lloyd enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He liked to go fishing, play cards, and especially to sit on the deck and watch the traffic go past.
Lloyd took great pleasure in listening to old-time music, and was always ready to go for a ride to see the countryside.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Anna Brandenburg; sister Cora Gesell; and brothers Paul and Erwin Brandenburg.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Edna; daughters and sons-in-law Sharon and Jerry Kahle of Cologne, and Betty and Dale Barfnecht of Mayer; and grandchildren Daryl and Michelle Barfnecht, Michelle and Kurt Schroeder, Craig Kahle, Kimberly Kahle, and Douglas Barfnecht.
He is further survived by great-grandchildren Rebecca, Courtney, Brett, Ashley, Kaitlin, Laura, Tyler, and Mason; sister Lorena Herrmann of Buffalo; sister-in-law Louise Hamann of Waconia; aunts Leona Ketcher and Melinda Ketcher, both of Spring Park; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 11:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waconia, with the Rev. Peter Peitsch officiating. Interment followed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Montrose.
Casket bearers were Daryl Barfnecht, Michelle Barfnecht, Douglas Barfnecht, Michelle Schroeder, Craig Kahle, Kimberly Kahle, and Kurt Schroeder.
Arrangements were by Johnson Funeral Home of Waconia.
