Lawrence J. “Larry” Cafferty
Lawrence J. “Larry” Cafferty, age 58 of Winsted, died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
He was born May 16, 1947 in Glencoe, the son of Bryan and Eleanore Dusoski Cafferty.
Larry graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1965, and then joined the National Guard. After returning home, he worked at Bryan’s Service Station in Winsted until he began his career in sales with Gelco, Amoco bp. He currently was employed at Dura Supreme in Howard Lake.
Larry enjoyed spending time with his sons, fixing cars, cooking, and baking.
He formerly belonged to the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion, Martin Krueger Post 407 of Winsted.
He is survived by his sons, Mac (Rachel) Cafferty and Kevin Cafferty, all of Farmington; parents Bryan and Eleanore Cafferty of Winsted; former wife, Dianne Cafferty of Farmington; sisters and brothers, Margie Kritzeck of Howard Lake, Elizabeth Joyner of Bloomington, Delores (Kenneth) Otto of Vadnais Heights, Theresa (James) Sexton of Delano, Bryan “Butch” Cafferty of Winsted, Catherine (Brad) Wiggins of Victoria, Rosemary Cafferty and Alan (JoLynn) Cafferty, all of Winsted and Julia (Allyn) Mann of Shawnee, Kan.; many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary Ann; father-in-law and mother-in-law Gilbert and Bronnie Quast; and by a brother-inlaw, Kenny Kritzeck.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place Friday, Oct. 14 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. The celebrant for the Mass was Father Paul L. Wolf; and the organist was Therese Borrell. Private interment took place at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Pastor Paul Biebighauser from Lakeville Messiah Lutheran Church offered a prayer service for the family at 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
Friends called Thursday, Oct. 13 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. Father Paul Wolf of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted, conducted a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Casket bearers were Mac Cafferty, Kevin Cafferty, Butch Cafferty, Alan Cafferty, Jim Sexton, Kenny Otto, Brad Wiggins, and Allyn Mann.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
