C. Lorraine Campbell
C. Lorraine Campbell, age 82 of Watertown, died Friday, July 1, 2005 at St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields, Ill., surrounded by her family.
She was born in Waverly Oct. 23, 1922 to Dennis and Julia (May) Neaton.
Lorraine graduated from Watertown High School in 1940.
She was united in marriage to John Campbell Nov. 20, 1945.
John and Lorraine purchased Campbell’s Confectionary in 1948, which they operated until purchasing the Fairway Foods grocery store in 1960.
Lorraine was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown, and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella.
She enjoyed playing cards with her grandsons and bridge with her friends.
Lorraine is survived by her husband of 59 years, John Campbell; and her daughters and their families: Joan, John, John, Joshua, and Vanessa Wegner; Colleen, David, Christopher, and Joshua Strom; and Patricia, James, James, Anthony, and Joseph Salvatori.
She is also survived by other family members including Donald and Helen Neaton, Lucille and Richard Pogue, Dennis and Pat Neaton, Francis Grewe, Rose Mary and La Verne Roufs, Helen Campbell, Eileen Campbell, Delores and Anthony Kruse, and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Wednesday, July 6 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Watertown with the Rev. Frank Wampach officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Casket bearers were John Wegner, Joshua Wegner, Christopher Strom, Joshua Strom, James Salvatori, A. J. Salvatori, and Joe Salvatori.
Arrangements were by Iten’s Watertown Funeral Home.
