Erna L. Dalbec
Erna L. Dalbec, age 93 of Watertown, died Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at her home.
She was born May 17, 1911 in Hollywood Twp., Carver County, the daughter of George and Bertha (Hamann) Becker. Erna was baptized June 25, 1911 at St. John Lutheran Church, Hollywood Twp., by the Rev. Theodore Rolf, and confirmed May 17, 1925 at the same church by the Rev. W. L. Ernst.
Erna was united in marriage to George J. Dalbec at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Delano, by the Rev. E. H. Bruns.
Erna moved to Watertown in 1967, where she was a member of the Watertown Senior Citizens.
She loved her family and her church. She also enjoyed eating cookies and sweets and playing tricks on people.
Erna was preceded in death by her husband, George; grandson Dean Hensel; parents George and Bertha Becker; brothers Harold, Herb, Ted, and Rainerd Becker; and sisters Cora Mielke and Rosie Ortloff.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Loren Hensel of New Germany; grandchildren Gene and Marlene Hensel of Watertown, and Mike and Patty Hensel of New Germany; and great-grandchildren Michelle and Christopher Parker, Jennifer and Scott Millerbrandt, Angela Hensel and friend Bob, and Abigail, Brittany, Koty, and Morgan Hensel.
Erna is further survived by great-grandchildren Adam, Nicholas, Alexander, Ashley, and Allison; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Elsie Becker of Watertown, Alice Becker of Mayer, Lloyd Dalbec of Montrose, Dorothy Dalbec, and Leona and Ambrose Yantes, all of Delano; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Saturday, April 23 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. Paul Krentz officiating. Interment was in the Watertown Public Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Raymond Becker, Henry Becker, Randy Theisen, Stan Yantes, Larry Dalbec, and Darryl Dalbec.
Arrangements were by the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia.
