Elaine Rita Ernhart
Elaine Rita Ernhart, age 74 of Howard Lake, and formerly of Silver Lake and Winsted, died Saturday, July 23, 2005 at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
She was born March 10, 1931 at the family home in Silver Lake, the daughter of Anton and Jenny (Novotny) Posusta Sr. Elaine grew up in Silver Lake, attending country school.
She was united in marriage to Albert Ernhart Feb. 20, 1950 at St. Joseph Church in Silver Lake by the Rev. S.J. Skluzacek. The couple made their first home in Dassel, before moving to a farm east of Silver Lake, then Winsted, Howard Lake, Annandale, and back to Howard Lake in 1967, where they made their home for 37 years.
During this time, Elaine farmed with Albert and worked at Cokato Manor for 24 years. While doing these other things, Elaine’s most important part of her life was to raise and care for her family.
She enjoyed gardening and flowers, camping, fishing, baking, and embroidering, and always looked forward to a family gathering.
Elaine is survived by her children, Dave Ernhart of Cokato, Bev (Dan) Dreis of Black River Falls, Wis., Barbara (Guy) Jarvi of Webster, Tim (Judy) Ernhart of Maple Grove, and Lisa (DeNeil) Thompson of Silver Lake; grandchildren Joel Libor, Shawn Libor, Dawn (Steve) Suess, Lori Baird, Sarah Mattson (fiancé Craig Yager), Darren Thompson, Mitchell Thompson, and Chad Thompson; great-grandchildren Brookeand Jazz Baird, and Jaden Suess; brothe, Tony (Avis) Posusta of Silver Lake; sisters-in-law Clara Ernhart of Winsted, Dorothy Ernhart of Park Rapids, Irene Bairel of St. Paul, and Monica Miller of Montana; nieces, nephews, and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert; brothers Donald Posusta and Leonard Posusta, and sister Adeline Penaz.
Funeral services were Tuesday, July 26 at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Annandale, with the Revs. Henry Fry and Thomas Queck officiating. Music was by Ruth Fry. Interment was at Corrina Township Cemetary.
Casket bearers were Elaine’s nephews: Ron Posusta, Mike Posusta, Ralph Posusta, Jim Posusta, Roger Posusta, and Dale Penaz.
The Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Howard Lake handled the arrangements.
