Joanne H. Fillbrandt

Joanne H. Fillbrandt, age 74 of Prior Lake, and formerly of Norwood Young America, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005 at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.

She was born May 30, 1931 at Bergen Township, McLeod County, Lester Prairie, the daughter of Armin H. and Agnes (Kubasch) Tonn. Joanne was baptized June 14, 1931 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Lester Prairie, by the Rev. J. A. Schert; and confirmed March 25, 1945 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Norwood Young America, by the Rev. W. P. Kramer.

Joanne was united in marriage to Stanley W. Fillbrandt June 27, 1948 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America, by the Rev. W. P. Kramer.

A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Joanne loved stamp and paperweight collecting, oil painting, and creating memory books.

She was employed as a store manager at Keystone Community; and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Norwood Young America.

Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley; father and mother Armin and Agnes Tonn; and stepfather Erick Olin.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Clark and Julie Fillbrandt of Glencoe, Wayne and Linda Sharpe Fillbrandt of Jordan, and David and Lori Fillbrandt of Glencoe; grandchildren Chrissy, Jessica, Bryan, Matthew, Jeffrey, David, Desseray, and Kenny; sisters-in-law Violet Jensen of Minnetonka, Edna Ernst of Mayer, Malinda Fillbrandt of Chaska, and Doris Fillbrandt of Mora; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were Friday, Dec. 9 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Norwood Young America, with the Revs. David Winter and Scott Gustafson officiating. Interment was in Mau Memorial Cemetery in Norwood Young America.

Casket bearers were Elroy “Black” Schwirtz, John Foley, Ralph Machemehl, Wally Dibb, Gordon Kubasch, Dick Radde, Charles Ittel, Grant Kusske, and Harold Kusske.

Arrangements were by the Johnson Funeral Home of Waconia.
