June Muriel Hamilton

June Muriel Hamilton, age 82 of Eden Prairie and formerly of Howard Lake, died Sunday, April 3, 2005 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

June was born March 19, 1923 in Cosmos, the daughter of Henry and Muriel (Thurston) Bergman. While attending high school, she moved to Litchfield to work as a housekeeper for a family there.

She graduated from Litchfield High School in 1941.

June married Warren Hamilton Nov. 9, 1942. The couple lived in many places around central Minnesota, then spent a short time in California, before settling in Howard Lake in 1985.

June was employed by Rosemount Engineering for many years.

Her family was the most important part of her life. She also enjoyed her cat, “Snickers.”

June is survived by sons Dennis (Kathy) of Eden Prairie, Dean (Margo) of Hereford, Ariz., and Dale of St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands; grandchildren Kelly (Justin) Hennessey of Minnetonka, and Jamey Hamilton of Eau Claire, Wis.; great-grandchildren Kenny and Tony Hamilton and Jonathan Hennessey; brother Wayne (Peggy) Bergman of Ft. Smith, Ark.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Muriel; her husband, Warren; a son, Don; brother Lloyd; and sisters Beverly and Delores.

A celebration of June’s life took place Friday, April 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Howard Lake, with the Rev. Joel Swedberg officiating. Music was by Sue Hammar and Grant Judd who sang “Be Still My Soul,” “In The Garden,” and “What A Friend We Have In Jesus.”

Private family interment was Saturday, April 9 at Lake Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield.

Visitation took place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

The Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Howard Lake handled the arrangements.
