John P. “Jack” Hokenson

John P. “Jack” Hokenson, age 81 of Watertown, died Monday, July 25, 2005 at Trevilla of Golden Valley.

He was born Feb. 19, 1924 at Minneapolis, the son of Arthur and Myrtle (VanKrevlen) Hokenson.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Florence; parents Arthur and Myrtle Hokenson; and granddaughter Anne Schmig.

He is survived by his children and spouses: Richard and Jean Hokenson of Texas, Phyllis and Leroy Schmig of Norwood Young America, Keith and Nancy Hokenson of Watertown, and Dale and Sarah Hokenson of Waverly; grandchildren Greg and Gretchen Hokenson, Patricia and Quinn Westerman, Stephen and Autumn Hokenson, Jonathan Hokenson, Matthew Hokenson, Ellen and James Dreier, Christine Schmig, Brock and Kelli Hokenson, Wade and Amanda Hokenson, Brady Hokenson, and Jered Hokenson.

John is further survived by great-grandchildren Benjamin and William Hokenson, Lane and Chase Westerman, Joshua Hokenson, and Derek Dreier; brothers and sisters-in-law Arthur and Audrey Hokenson of Wisconisn, and Mark and Barbara Hokenson of New York; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services were Saturday, July 30 at 11 a.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Watertown with the Rev. Greg Loomis officiating. Interment followed at Oster Covenant Cemetery, Woodland Twp.

Casket bearers were Pat Lynch, Dean Wessman, Verlin Abramson, Mark Wabbe, Wes Quinn, and Al Leuthner.

Arrangements were with the Johnson Funeral Home of Waconia.
