Alma M. Krause obituary, 12/15/05


Alma M. Krause, age 103 of Winsted, and formerly of rural Buffalo, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005 at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.
She was born April 6, 1902 in Lester Prairie, the daughter of Pastor and Mrs. Ehwald. Alma was baptized at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, Bergen Township, McLeod County. She was also instructed in the Lutheran catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith in April 1916 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Good Thunder.
Alma and Reinhold G. Krause were joined in holy marriage Jan. 4, 1937 in Buffalo. Reinhold preceded his wife in death May 23, 1990.
Alma was formerly employed at Campbell Abstract Company and the Oakley National Bank in Buffalo.
A faithful, long-time member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo, Alma belonged to the choir, served as a Sunday school teacher and church financial secretary, and was a member of the Ladies Aid.
In addition to her husband, Alma was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister; and by a stepsister.
She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Buffalo with the Rev. James Disney officiating. Interment followed at Lakeview Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Don Streich, Dan Korbel, Willie Pautzke, Leroy Kreitlow, Clint Lambert, and Gene Hansen. LeRoy Schultz was honorary casket bearer.
The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo served the family.
