Verdilla A. Kuntz

Funeral services are today, Feb. 28 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waconia, for Verdilla A. Kuntz, age 88 of Waconia, who died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

She was born June 26, 1916 at Camden Township, Carver County, the daughter of William and Emma (Maschke) Schrupp. Verdilla was baptized July 16, 1916 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Young America, and confirmed at the same church April 27, 1930.

She married Harold F. Kuntz Oct. 18, 1939 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Young America.

Verdilla was a homemaker, as well as being employed at Schultz Bakery for 26 years.

When she retired in 1978, she enjoyed her garden, sewing, and being a member of the Ladies Aid at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; parents William and Emma Schrupp; and sister Ruth Belter.

Verdilla is survived by her children and spouses: Betty and Wayne Leikam of Kansas, Barbara and John Noll of Norwood Young America, Susan and David Segner of St. Bonifacius, and Lois and John Dreelan of St. Paul; and grandchildren: Kimberly and Tim Oglesby, Kristin and James Stoneman, Karen and Doug Bullock, Ann Noll, Steven Noll and fiancée Paula Gratz, Derek and Amy Segner, Andrea and Craig Wachholz, and Matthew Conley.

She is further survived by great-grandchildren Jordan and Bethany Oglesby, Brooke and Lindsey Stoneman, Corey and Joshua Bullock, Claire Segner, and Anna and Lilly Wachholz; sister and brothers-in-law Delores and Wallace Hoese of Mayer, and Lawrence Belter of Hamburg; brother and sister-in-law Maynard and Dorothy Schrupp of Norwood Young America; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.

The Rev. Peter Peitsch will officiate at the 11:30 a.m. funeral service. Interment will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Waconia.

Casket bearers are Kimberly Oglesby, Kristin Stoneman, Karen Bullock, Ann Noll, Steven Noll, Derek Segner, Andrea Wachholz, and Matthew Conley.

Arrangements are by Johnson Funeral Home of Waconia.
