Lorraine C. McMahon
Lorraine C. McMahon, age 79, of Winsted, died early Thursday morning, Sept. 15, 2005 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
She was born April 24, 1926 in Alta Vista Township, Lincoln County, the daughter of Anton and Frances Lozinski Swedzinski.
Lorraine and William J. McMahon were joined in holy marriage Feb. 15, 1944, at SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Taunton. God blessed their marriage with 10 children.
Lorraine was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted and its CCW. She formerly taught catechism at the Church of St. Andrew in Granite Falls.
She also belonged to the Winsted American Legion Post 407 Auxiliary.
Lorraine loved spending time with her grandchildren, fishing, birds, bonfires, stamp collecting, going to casinos, and watching the Minnesota Twins.
She is survived by her loving children: Rita (Robert) Gomez of Capitan, N.M., Robert (Sue) McMahon of Woodbury, Don (Deb) McMahon of New Hope, Len (Jackie) McMahon of Crystal, Dan (Barb) McMahon of Waconia, Marilyn (Ron) Satrang of St. Michael, Brenda (Dave) Larson of Farmington, Joan (Brad) Cook of Eden Prairie and Shari (Craig) Remer of Winsted; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a very special friend, Clarence M. Hultgren.
Lorraine is further survived by six brothers and a sister: Richard (Bernice) Swedzinski, Edward Swedzinski, Irene Rupp, Marvin Swedzinski, Robert (Marion) Swedzinski, David Swedzinski, and James (Rebecca) Swedzinski; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William J. McMahon; a daughter, Judy Marie; her parents, Anton and Frances Swedzinski; and a brother, Raymond.
A concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial took place Saturday, Sept. 17 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Paul L. Wolf and Father Richard G. Bonin were the concelebrants. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Friends called from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16 at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m.
Casket bearers were Tim McMahon, Pat Swedzinski, Jason Swedzinski, Ken Swedzinski, John Rupp, and Ron Rupp.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
