Leona Bertha Miller
Leona Bertha Miller, age 96 of Lester Prairie, died Friday, March 18, 2005 at the Presbyterian Home On Lake Minnetonka in Spring Park.
She was born Sept. 24, 1908 in Plato, the daughter of William and Bertha (Schuette) Miller. She was baptized Oct. 24, 1908 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Plato, and later confirmed into the faith March 21, 1922 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie.
Leona loved to read, do crossword puzzles, and play the organ. She was always interested in the world around her, and traveled throughout the U.S. in her early years.
She is preceded in death by her brothers Herbert Miller, William Miller, and Lorenz Miller; and a sister, Hilda Krueger.
Leona is survived by a sister, Lorena Wolff of Minnetonka; a brother, Roland Miller (wife Gladys) of Lester Prairie; brother-in-law Mark Krueger of Lester Prairie; sister-in-law Marion Miller of Minnetonka; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Tuesday, March 22 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, with the Rev. Eric Nelson officiating. Organist was Marsha Christenson, and congregational hymns were “How Great Thou Art,” “A Mighty Fortress,” “Come Thou Almighty King,” and “Beautiful Savior.” Interment was in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Lester Prairie.
Visitation took place two hours prior to the service at the church.
Casket bearers were Robert Miller, Sean Krueger, Patrick Krueger, Jason Miller, Thomas J. Maher, William Price, and Steve Peterson.
Arrangements were with the Paul-McBride Funeral Chapel in Lester Prairie.
