Ambrose “Doc” Motzko

Ambrose “Doc” Motzko, age 78 of Montrose, and formerly of Delano, died Thursday, July 7, 2005 while making hay on his farm.

He was born Nov. 7, 1926 to Leo and Rose (Pollock) Motzko in Franklin Township, Montrose.

Ambrose was employed for a number of years at Giesen Farm Implement in Delano, and it was this work experience which helped develop Ambrose’s farm mechanic skills.

He was a lifelong member of St. Mary of Czestochowa Catholic Church in Delano.

Ambrose was also an active member in the Delano American Legion Post 377, and the Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma.

Ambrose is survived by his children, Kay and Donald Gabrelcik, Gail and Craig Sinkel, and Mark and Laurie Motzko; grandchildren Emily and Troy Norman, Stacy and Matthew Frank, Leah Sinkel, Michael Motzko, and David Motzko; and great-grandchildren Nathan and Jack Norman, and Mitchell and Luke Frank.

Mass of Christian Burial took place Tuesday, July 12 at St. Mary of Czestochowa Catholic Church in Delano with the Rev. Joseph Gallatin officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Casketbearers were Emily Norman, Stacy Frank, Michael Motzko, David Motzko, Leah Sinkel, Paul Motzko, Richard Motzko, and Douglas Motzko.

Arrangements were by Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
