Robert Henry Neises

Robert Henry Neises, age 80 of Winthrop, died unexpectedly Thursday, Aug. 4, 2005 at the North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.

He was born Aug. 23, 1924 in Wadena, to Henry and Minnie (Imgrund) Neises.

Robert was a veteran of World War II. He served in the US Army Air Division, flying 58 missions over Germany.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Joann (Arens) Neises.

He is survived by his sons, Gerald and Theresa Neises, and James and Eileen Neises; his daughter, Jeannie and Bruce West; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister Virginia Barfknecht; and special friend Beverly Pettit-Hamer and her five daughters.

Mass of Christian Burial took place Tuesday, Aug. 9 at the St. Anne Catholic Church in Hamel. The Rev. Robert Patterson officiated at the Mass, with music provided by Chuck Rolando, organist, and Toots Sebring, soloist. Interment was in the Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Loretto.

Visitation took place Monday, Aug. 8, afternoon and evening, at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.

Casket bearers were Kevin Barfknecht, Terry Barfknecht, John Arens, Pat Arens, Mike Arens, Steve Arens, and Gary Neid. Honorary bearers were Bill Sipe, Bill Ruchti, Paul Martin, Dick Estersen, Jim Hunter, and Charles Meyer.

Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
