Florence “Flossie” V. Pilgram
Florence “Flossie” V. Pilgram, age 91 of Winsted, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005 at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.
She was born Dec. 22, 1913 in Washington Lake Township, the daughter of George and Anna (Smith) Herd. She grew up in Washington Lake Township and attended country school.
Flossie was united in marriage with Aloysius Pilgram Nov. 4, 1950. The couple made their home in Green Isle.
Flossie was a homemaker and was employed as a cook for the Green Isle school. Later, she helped her niece by working at the Corner Bar in Green Isle.
Flossie was a member of St. Brendan’s Catholic Church in Green Isle.
She enjoyed fishing, cooking, puzzles, and volunteering at St. Mary’s Care Center.
Florence is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers Sidney, Elmer, Clarence, and Lloyd; and sisters Emily and Anna.
She is survived by her brother, Gilbert Herd of Onamia; sister-in-law Phyllis Pilgram of Watertown; great-niece Vicky Willmsen (husband Mike) of Arlington; as well as other relatives and friends.
Funeral services celebrating her life were Thursday, Feb. 17 at 10 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Care Center Chapel in Winsted. The Rev. Martin Rath officiated, and the organist was Victoria Berg. Soloist Lawrence Biermann sang “On Eagle’s Wings” and “How Great Thou Art.” The congregational hymn was “Amazing Grace.” Interment was in St. Brendan’s Catholic Cemetery in Green Isle.
Serving as casket bearers were Mike Willmsen, Nick Willmsen, Benjamin Willmsen, Noel Guggemos, Kenneth Pilgram, and Phillip Pilgram.
Arrangements were with the Paul-McBride Funeral Chapel in Norwood Young America.
