John 'Jim' Rose, Sr.

John “Jim” Rose Sr., age 76 of Waverly, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at his home in Marysville Township.

He was born July 22, 1928 to John and Emma (Heinz) Rose in Rockford.

Jim was a veteran of the Korean War.

He served the city of Waverly as a volunteer firefighter for 25 years, and was a retired member of the Laborers Union.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife, “Berti;” and brothers Harold, “Sonnie,” and Clarence.

He is survived by his children: sons, John Jr. and Jim; and daughters, Deborah, Patty, and Kristy (Keith) Decker; two granchildren, Cody and Kara; and a sister, Eleanor Chapman.

A gathering of family and friends will occur Friday March 11 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.

A celebration of Jim’s life will take place Saturday, March 12 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Waverly Village Hall.
