Arlys Eileen Ruschmeier obituary, 7/19/05


Arlys Eileen Ruschmeier, age 63 of Biscay, died Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
She was born May 20, 1942 in Plato, the daughter of Herman and Clara (Raether) Buckentin. Arlys was baptized May 31, 1942 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg by the Rev. Baumann, and confirmed at the same church March 25, 1956 by the Rev. Wohlfiel.
She graduated from Glencoe High School in 1960.
Arlys married Glenard Ruschmeier June 29, 1963 at Emanuel Lutheran Church. The couple was blessed with one daughter, Jody.
Arlys worked at Adult Training and Habilitation Center in Winsted for over 30 years.
She enjoyed reading, traveling, going antiquing, and spending time at the cabin. Arlys loved spending time with family and friends because they would often make her laugh and smile.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Biscay for over 40 years.
Arlys was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Clara; father-in-law Hubert Ruschmeier; step father-in-law Earl Beringer; and brother-in-law Dale Ruschmeier.
She is survived by her husband, Glenard Ruschmeier of Biscay; daughter Jody Pilifka (Cory) of Glencoe; mother-in-law Esther Beringer of Glencoe; siblings Marlene Jensen (Donovan) of Howard Lake, and Marvin Buckentin (Sharon) of St. Paul; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Kathy Schuetz (Robert) of Glencoe, David Ruschmeier (Jeanine) of Plato, and Sandy Ruschmeier of Glencoe; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services were Friday, July 22 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Biscay with the Rev. Robert Taylor officiating. The organist was Mary Hubert, and the soloist was Lawrence Biermann. Interment was in St. John’s Cemetery.
Serving as casket bearers were Kirk Jensen, Joel Hirsch, Dan Buckentin, Mike Schuetz, Dan Ruschmeier, and Matt Ruschmeier.
Arrangements were made with the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe.
