Leo “Whitey” Schulte obituary, 1/25/05


Leo “Whitey” Schulte, age 71 of Delano, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005 at the Delano Health Care Center.
He was born June 14, 1933 to Louis and Helen (Blume) Schulte in Cumberland, Wis.
Whitey served our nation in the Air Force during the Korean War.
He was united in marriage to Elizabeth J. “Jo” Ward Nov. 12, 1955, and together, they celebrated 49 years of marriage.
Whitey was employed as a mechanic. He owned and operated Whitey’s Service in Cokato, as well as working as a truck driver throughout the years.
He served as Wright County Bowling Association president, and enjoyed spending his free time hunting, fishing, and bowling.
Whitey is survived by his loving wife, Jo; children: daughter Theresa of Longmont, Colo.; sons Michael and Jennifer Schulte, Steven and Kiren Schulte of Waukesha, Wis.; Greg and Diane Schulte of Aurora, Colo; Tim and Lynda Schulte of Sartell; and Jeffrey Schulte of Cummberland, Wis.; nine grandchildren: Heather, Josh, Greg, Travis, Lisa, Kayla, Collin, Alec, and Kyle; and great-grandson Kyle.
He is further survived by sisters Alberta and Jim Linder of Cumberland, Wis., and Sister Geraldine Schulte OSM of Ladysmith, Wis.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was Friday, Jan. 28, at the Sts. Peter and Joseph Catholic Church, Delano, with the Rev. Michael Miller officiating. The Ressurrection Choir provided music. Inurnment was in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
