Loretta A. Sherman obituary, 11/8/05


Loretta A. Sherman, age 89 of Winsted, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005 at St. Mary’s Care Center.
She was born July 16, 1916 in Hollywood Township, Carver County, the daughter of Martin and Nellie M. Merritt Sherman.
Loretta was a faithful, longtime member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.
She is survived by sisters Esther Rivers of Surprise, Ariz. and Fay Carlson of Waconia; and nieces and nephews.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Nellie Sherman; brothers Richard and Edmond Sherman; sisters Margaret Kallenbach, Bertha Hauwiller, and Vema “Bub” Moy, and stepsisters and stepbrothers Mildred Hoaglund, Mary Skoog, Madeline Cofer, Vernard Gilmer, Russell Gilmer, and Gunella Fowler.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place Friday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Paul L. Wolf was the celebrant. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Visitation took place Thursday, Nov. 10 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, with a rosary at 7 p.m.
Casket bearers were Robert and Thomas Hauwiller, Alan and James Moy, and Leon and Kenneth Rivers.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
