David “Duster” Skiles Sr. obituary, 9/20/05


David “Duster” Skiles Sr., age 66 of Toledo, Ohio, died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005 at his daughter’s home in Fremont, Ohio.
He was born Aug. 21, 1939 to William and Garnet Skiles in Toledo.
David served seven years in the US Army.
He was a self-employed carpenter, and enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and gardening. He also loved cheering for his favorite baseball team, the Cleveland Indians.
David is survived by his children, Charles Skiles, Mark Skiles, Tammy (Jerry) Hamilton, Sandra (Tim) Weiker, Jeannie (Leon) Decker, Donna (Jeff) Hausladen, Patty (Craig) Loebertmann, David (Amanda) Skiles Jr. II, Willis Skiles, and Guy Skiles; stepchildren Robert Watson and Lisa Curtis; his mother, Garnet Haile; 32 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
He is further survived by several sisters and four brothers.
David was preceded in death by his father, William; son, David Jr.; and grandson Branden Cohen.
Funeral services were Friday, Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. at the Freck Funeral Chapel in Toledo, Ohio.
