Randolph Paul “Randy” Sterner, age 48 of Hopkins, died Saturday, June 18, 2005 at the Hennepin County Medical Center.
He was born April 12, 1957 in Hutchinson, the son of Alfred L. and Shirley A. Smykalski Sterner.
Randy was employed as an independent contractor.
He also was known for his great sense of humor.
Randy is survived by his son, Max Shelltrack of Hopkins; his mother, Shirley Sterner of Winsted; brothers and sisters: Bill (Jody) Sterner of Tennessee, Debbie LePage of Duluth, Mike A. Sterner of Hopkins, Kevin (Cathy) Sterner of Watertown, Fred Sterner of Winsted, and Connie Bolon of California, and Cindy (Doug) Thaemert of Montrose; special friend Debra Townsend of Minneapolis; and many other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred L. Sterner, in 1997.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place Wednesday, June 22 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. The Rev. Paul L. Wolf was the celebrant. Private interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
A visitation took place Tuesday, June 21 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Casket bearers were Randy’s four brothers: Bill Sterner, Mike A. Sterner, Kevin Sterner, and Fred Sterner; Chuck Smykalski, and Dave Gutzmann.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
