Richard B. Wakefield
Richard B. Wakefield, 66, Watkins, died Oct. 21, 2005, at his residence.
Services were conducted Oct. 25 at the Ostmark Lutheran Church, rural Watkins, with the Rev. Melinda Melhus officiating.
Richard Wakefield was born July 30, 1939, to Bruce and Helen (Risner) Wakefield in Forest City Township, Meeker County, Minnesota.
He married Alice Fallon in 1958 at Darwin.
He was a carpenter and craftsman. He manufactured spearing decoys for the fishing industry, crafted gun cabinets and toy boxes, even constructing his own house.
He was a member of the Ostmark Lutheran Church.
In his leisure he enjoyed hunting and horseback riding. He was a former member of the Litchfield Saddle Club.
Survivors include his children, Lorie Wakefield and Dana (Troy) Simmons of Watkins; and Bret (fiancee, Mona Sjolie) Wakefield of Dassel; his mother of Watkins; and a brother Max (Eileen) of Cottage Grove.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1999 and his father in 2002.
