Jeff A. Stern
Jeff A. Stern, age 43, of Winsted, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2006 at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Jeff was born May 28, 1963 in Watertown, the son of Donald A. and Rosie E. (Hultgren) Stern. He was baptized in June of 1963 at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Watertown Twp.; and confirmed in May of 1977 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Watertown.
Jeff attended school at St. Paul/St. Peter Lutheran School from kindergarten through eighth grade. He graduated from Mayer Lutheran High School in 1981. From there, Jeff attended Concordia University in St. Paul.
Jeff was blessed with two beautiful children, Alexandra Rose, and Zachary Taylor. He loved to spend time with his children camping, fishing, watching movies, and just hanging out. They all enjoyed traveling to Lutsen every year for the Dad and Kids Weekend with his good friend, Rich, and his daughter, Sam. Their trip to Disney World was a highlight destination. They also enjoyed playing with their dogs, Jessie and Candy.
Jeff loved watching the Gophers and Vikings; he also enjoyed coordinating Fantasy Football with his buddies. He loved the game of golf, and was an excellent cook. He was always trying new and exotic foods, barbecuing, and mixing up salads with green stuff that no one could pronounce. He accumulated all the Emeril Live books. Jeff introduced many people to the wonderful world of fine wines, but he, himself, loved an ice cold Budweiser.
Jeff shared his enthusiasm for all things with many close friends, especially Nick, Rich, Tim and Jo, Stan and Tracy, and Dawn.
He served his Lord, Jesus Christ by providing leadership on the board of education at Christ Community Lutheran School.
Jeff is survived by his loving family: children Alexandra Rose Stern, and Zachary Taylor Stern, both of Winsted; mom and dad Rosie and Don Stern of Mayer; sister and brother-in-law Tammy and Fred Limmel of Waconia; sister Dana Stern and fiancé Mike Fleming of Portland, Ore.; nieces and nephew Angela, Stephanie, and Michael; grandpa Clarence Hultgren of Winsted; and uncles, aunts, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
