Lucille Anne Ahlgren
Lucille Anne Ahlgren, age 92, of Darwin, died Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at the Lakeview Ranch in rural Darwin.
She was born April 15, 1914, at the family farm in rural Darwin, the daughter of Henry and Bertha (Kalmeier) Radunz. She grew up and attended country school in the rural Darwin area.
Lucille was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and was a member of the Church of Christ in Dassel at the time of her death.
Lucille was united in marriage to Stanley Ahlgren Sept. 1, 1937, at her parents’ farm. Together, they farmed in Ellsworth Township for many years.
Lucille was a wonderful cook, enjoyed gardening, and especially loved the times that she could get together with family and friends.
She had been involved with the Home Circle Club, and had taught Sunday School for many years.
Most of all, Lucille took great pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She spent many hours playing and taking care of them.
She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Lucille is survived by her husband, Stanley, of Darwin; her children, Joanne (Ron) West of Joplin, Mo., Richard (Jeanne Lager) Ahlgren of Plymouth, Ronald (Barb) Ahlgren of Hill City, Kan., Bob (Connie) Ahlgren of Dassel, David (Mary) Ahlgren of Darwin, Steve (Pam) Ahlgren of Darwin, and Galen (Sue) Ahlgren of Darwin; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ernie Radunz of Litchfield; and two sisters, Elsie Edlund of Maryland, and Louise (Merlyn) Osberg of Rochester.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Frank, and Henry Jr.; and one infant grandson.
A funeral service took place Monday, May 8 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Christ in Dassel. The Revs. Marc Grindle, Ronald Ahlgren, and Tim Ahlgren officiated at the service.Music was the hymn, “What a Friend We Have In Jesus” by organist Jeanette Tomlinson and the Revs. Ronald Ahlgren and Tim Ahlgren, musicians. Interment was at the Dassel Cemetery.
A visitation took place Sunday evening, May 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel; and continued for one hour prior to the service Monday, at the church.
Casketbearers were Rick Ahlgren, Jason Ahlgren, Ben Ahlgren, Charlie Ahlgren, Ryan Ahlgren, Tim Ahlgren, Ted Ahlgren, and Scott West.
Arrangements were by Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel.
